Overview
Board book build issues usually fall into one of two situations:
- The book shows a Book Build Failed message.
- The book appears stuck building for a long time, including staying on Build Queued or continuing to spin.
Use the section below that matches what you are seeing.
Book Build Failed
If the book build fails, first check whether OnBoard identifies a specific file that caused the problem.
Resolution
- Click Build Failed.
- Review the error details to see if a specific file name is listed.
- If the error shows a file name, open the original file on your device and print it to PDF.
- Re-upload the new PDF version to the agenda.
- Rebuild the board book.
If no file name is listed
If the error does not identify a specific file, isolate the problem file by removing a few files at a time.
- Move a couple of files out of the agenda.
- Rebuild the board book.
- If the book builds successfully, one of the files you removed is likely causing the issue.
- Add the removed files back to the agenda one at a time.
- Rebuild the book after each file is added.
- When the build fails again, open the problem file on your device and print it to PDF.
- Re-upload the corrected file and rebuild the book.
| Note: If your board book contains a large number of documents, start by removing any larger, image or chart heavy files. |
Book is stuck building for a long period of time
Use this section if the board book keeps spinning, remains on Building Book, or is stuck on Build Queued for a long time.
Resolution
- Refresh the page.
- If the book is still stuck, make a small change to the meeting agenda or book settings to start the build process again.
Examples of changes include:
- Changing the page number style in the meeting settings
- Adding a document
- Adding a section
- After making the change, click Build Scheduled.
- Select Build book now to bypass the countdown and start the build immediately.
Additional notes
If the book still does not build after trying these steps, contact Support. Include the URL of the meeting (copied from your browser's address bar) so Support can investigate more quickly.
