Overview

Certain Actions (eSignatures, Approvals, and Surveys) allow automatic open and close dates to be set, with automatic notifications. 

Why did my action open or close automatically?

Actions will open or close automatically if automatic open and close dates are set. 

If you would rather control this progress manually, leave these fields blank and use the Status dropdown menu to move the action through its lifecycle.

Why did my action close before all responses were captured?

If a close date is set, the action will close on that date regardless of whether every response has been submitted.

To keep the action open until you manually close it, leave the close date empty.

Will respondents be notified when an action opens or closes automatically?

Only if automatic notifications are enabled.

If open and close dates are set, but automatic notifications are not enabled, respondents will not be notified when the action opens or closes. By default, automatic notifications are disabled.
