At approximately 08:30 UTC (4:30 AM EST) on August 30th, 2023 there were storage and compute failures in the Australia East region due to power surges causing cooling issues in the Azure Data center.
At approximately 1:07pm EST temperatures in the impacted datacenter were stabilized, power to all hardware was restored, and Azure storage services returned to operational status.
Due to the nature of this issue, storage scale units are expected to require additional recovery efforts to ensure that all resources return in a consistent state.
We apologize for any inconvenience that might have occurred during this time.
