Week 5: Notifications (All About Communications & Notifications)
Directors are busy people who often serve on multiple boards. They need access to the right board materials at the right time to participate most effectively.
Save time and effort for the whole organization when you understand and fully leverage the notification capabilities of OnBoard.
Today's Mini Mission
- When a new user activates their OnBoard account, their email notifications are automatically enabled. While not recommended, the user or an org admin can disable a member's email notifications from their profile. When installing the mobile app, users will be prompted to enable push notifications.
- We have designed notifications to be thoughtful and intentional, not disruptive. Expect to see prompts to "notify" or "don't notify", have the flexibility to enter an optional custom message, and determine if a reminder is needed. Many notifications are immediate, but some are delayed and batched. Refer to the List of OnBoard Notifications.
- The Meeting Brief Email is an intelligent email that alerts attendees when they're invited to a meeting and then coaches them on what next steps they need to take to prepare. Attendees learn from a second email about any outstanding action items they need to complete, and any meeting materials still left to review.
- Reinforce OnBoard as the central hub for communications by sending announcements. Trends and news that impact your organization can be easily posted. Spotlight a new director and celebrate events and special occasions. You can pin announcements to position them at the top of the list and even set an expiration date so they automatically delete.
