Single Sign-on (SSO) allows your organization’s end-users to log into OnBoard with their existing SSO credentials easily.
From the Initial Invite for a New User
- If you're a new user who received an email from an organization, your invitation should include a Temporary Password. Select and Copy the Temporary password.
- Click the “Sign In Now” button.
- Paste in your temporary password and create an OnBoard specific password. Click Change Password once you've confirmed the new password.
Note: If your organization is enforcing SSO, chances are you won’t need to use this password again. With that being said: this process is essential so that you have access to OnBoard for other organizations if you have multiple organizations associated with the email address being used for SSO. - Click continue to sign in with SSO.
- Sign in to your SSO Provider. (this screenshot uses OneLogin as an example, but will be whatever your specific identity provider is).
- Once signed in, you will be automatically redirected back into your organization inside of OnBoard.
From the Main Login Page for an Existing User (Domain Matching Email)
- Type in your organization-related email address. This should automatically remove the password field and replace it with a pink button. Click that button to continue.
- Sign in to your SSO Provider. (this screenshot uses OneLogin as an example, but will be whatever your specific identity provider is)
- Once signed in, you will be automatically redirected back into your organization inside of OnBoard.
From the Main Login Page for an Existing User (Non-Domain Matching Email)
- Click on the “Sign in with SSO Provider” button.
- Type in your organization’s domain name (typically is the information after the ‘@’ in organization email addresses. In this example I am using the “onboardmeetings.com” domain)
- Sign in to your SSO Provider. (this screenshot uses OneLogin as an example, but will be whatever your specific identity provider is)
- Once signed in, you will be automatically redirected back into your organization inside of OnBoard.
From the Application Dashboard Inside of your Identity Provider
- Sign in to your SSO Provider. (this screenshot uses OneLogin as an example, but will be whatever your specific identity provider is)
- Click on the OnBoard application inside of your identity provider application dashboard, you will be automatically redirected into your organization inside of OnBoard.
Set up Alternative Email Addresses for Notifications
If you would like to receive your OnBoard notifications to an email address that differs from your Single Sign-On address, you can set up one or more Alternative Notification Addresses using separate emails.
As an Administrator you can add Alternative Notification Addresses to your user's profiles by following the steps in our Editing Another User's Profile article.
Users can also add their own Alternative Notification Addresses by following the steps in our Managing your User Profile and Settings article.
Important Note: The following notifications and emails will not go out to Alternative Notification Addresses, and will only send to the OnBoard ID email address:
- Account Invitation Emails
- Password Reset Emails
- Calendar Integration Emails (Calendar Invites)
