Single Sign-on (SSO) allows your organization’s end-users to log into OnBoard with their existing SSO credentials easily.
From the Initial Invite for a New User
If you're a new user who received an email from an organization, first copy the Temporary Password and then select Sign in Now.
This will open the Create Password screen on your preferred web browser. First, paste or type the Temporary Password in the Your Temporary Password field.
Then enter and confirm your preferred password and select Change Password.
Your password must meet these password complexity requirements:
- Password must contain at least one lowercase character.
- Password must contain at least one upper-case character.
- Password must be more than 8 characters long.
- Password must contain at least one of these special characters: ! @ # $ % ^ & * ?
Once you've successfully completed your password, you'll be logged into your OnBoard organization.
On your next sign in, OnBoard will recognize your email/OnBoard ID and prompt you to sign in with SSO. Select Continue to sign in with SSO.

Mobile and Tablet App SSO Sign On
The process for accepting your invitation will be the same on the mobile or tablet app. We recommend downloading the IOS or Android apps prior to activating your account.
After activating your account, the sign on process will be the same on the phone or tablet. You'll be auto-prompted to sign in with SSO if your email domain matches the email domain for the organization's SSO. Or, you can choose to initially sign in with your OnBoard ID.
After successfully signing in on the phone or tablet app, you'll be prompted to trust the device and enter a mobile security pin or use a biometric sensor (thumbprint or face ID). To learn more about trusting the device, review this article.
If trusted, you will remain signed into the OnBoard mobile or tablet app for up to 120 days of inactivity. If you sign out of the app, you will need to go through SSO sign on process again.
From the Application Dashboard Inside of your Identity Provider

Set up Alternative Email Addresses for Notifications
If you would like to receive your OnBoard notifications to an email address that differs from your Single Sign-On address, you can set up one or more Alternative Notification Addresses using separate emails.
As an Administrator you can add Alternative Notification Addresses to your user's profiles by following the steps in our Editing Another User's Profile article.
Users can also add their own Alternative Notification Addresses by following the steps in our Managing your User Profile and Settings article.
Important Note: The following notifications and emails will not go out to Alternative Notification Addresses, and will only send to the OnBoard ID email address:
- Account Invitation Emails
- Password Reset Emails
- Calendar Integration Emails (Calendar Invites)
