Formatting Excel Files Before Uploading to OnBoard Pinned

When working with Excel files, OnBoard displays the uploaded workbook or worksheet as it appears in Excel’s Print Preview.

How should you format an Excel file before uploading it?

Use these tips to control how the file appears in OnBoard:

  • Hide any worksheets you do not want to include.
  • Change the page orientation to landscape and adjust the margins if needed.
  • Set the rows you want to repeat at the top of each page.
  • Use Print Preview or Page Break Preview to check the layout.
  • Set the page height and width to 1 page to condense the worksheet onto a single page.

When a worksheet is condensed to one page, some content may appear small. However, if you print or save the workbook as a PDF before uploading it, users can scroll through the PDF and zoom in on its content, similar to viewing the original Excel file.

Once the layout looks the way you want it, save the file and upload it to OnBoard.

Pro Tip: Before changing the meeting’s visibility to All Visible, meeting admins can select Open Book to preview the final meeting packet in OnBoard. This is a recommended best practice for confirming that all content displays correctly.
