Automated Minutes: Options for Recording and Transcribing In-Person Meetings
If your organization conducts meetings in person but still wants to utilize OnBoard’s Automated Minutes to record and transcribe the meeting, you have some options:
Option 1: Each Attendee Records Audio on a Device
This option allows the OnBoard Recording Assistant to capture each attendee’s audio, so their name can be detected and listed in the transcript.
- Have each attendee sign in to the Zoom or Teams meeting on a device in front of them (phone, tablet, or computer).
- Ensure that the microphone is on for each attendee and that their speakers are muted. This will prevent audio feedback while allowing each attendee’s name to be listed in the transcript when they speak.
Option 2: Record Audio for the Entire Meeting on One Device
This option requires significantly less setup, but the OnBoard Recording Assistant will be unable to detect each attendee’s name.
- Sign in to a Zoom or Teams meeting on a single device.
- Place the device in the meeting room where it can capture audio from all attendees.
The OnBoard Recording Assistant will capture all audio, but it will only list the name of the individual logged into the Zoom or Teams meeting in the transcript.
