While adding directors in to your organization, you may accidentally misspell a director's name and they are showing a status of "Invite Pending". This article covers the steps to correct this.
**Please note: Following these steps will remove any permissions set for the user. Admins will need to reset the permissions upon complete of this process.**
Example Scenario
- Director's name is Stefanie Bangert was misspelled as Stephanie Bangert.
Part One:
The user needs to be removed and then invited again. This will allow an admin the ability to reset the director's password. Here are the steps:
- Click on "Edit" in the top right of the screen
- Select the User
- Click on "Remove User"
- You'll be asked to confirm your intentions. Select "Yes" and the user will be removed.
- After they are removed, click on Done in the image above
Part Two
- Click on "Invite"
- Select "Add New User"
- Enter the director's email address, first and last name
- Leave the check box next to "Automatically email invited members on my behalf" blank
- The user is now back in your org and has a status of "Password Hidden", with the word "Reset" in blue
- Click on "Reset" and the status menu will change to "Temp Password" with the option "Send"
- Click on "Send" and you'll see a menu expand with the Temp Password, as well as a few different options to send the temp password.
- Click on the Temp Password and it will copy it to your clipboard
Part Three
- Now that we have the Temp Password and the email for the director, whose name we're trying to fix
- Open an incognito window of your browser (you need a separate instance of OnBoard to temporarily log in as the director
- When you log in, OnBoard will ask you to set a permanent password. Just paste the Temp Password in all three fields
- Now you're logged in as the director
- Click on the the director's picture or initials
- Open up the User Account Information
- Change the name to how it is supposed to be spelled
- Once done, log out
- Go back on the browser window where you are logged in as your admin account
- Go to the Directory
- Reset the director's password
