What is the OnBoard ID?
OnBoard ID is a new type of account that is being added as an authentication option for OnBoard. The OnBoard ID will be a required part of account setup going forward in order to help safeguard OnBoard accounts.
Why do I have to create an OnBoard ID?
This account is part of our continuing effort to ensure the security and flexibility of OnBoard.
The OnBoard ID further strengthens Passageways system security and gives end users increased control over their accounts.
Now end users can link multiple ID providers (Google, Yahoo, Windows Live) to their OnBoard ID. This makes OnBoard more convenient by allowing access with the end users' preferred method of authentication.
When is this OnBoard ID used?
Since each user is required to create an OnBoard ID, the user can then, optionally, logon with that Passageways OnBoard ID. Also, from the profile page, users can link and unlink their identity providers.
Please see this article for more information on linking and unlinking accounts to the OnBoard ID account.
Can users still logon with the 3 Federated Identity Providers (Google, Yahoo, Windows Live)?
Yes, their current identity provider, in addition to the OnBoard ID, can be used to access OnBoard.
